Welcome to the San Francisco Academy of Family Physicians (SFAFP). Come and meet with your family physician colleagues in our great City by the Bay. We are your local Chapter for the California Academy and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Our mission is to support both of our community and academic family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students who are passionate about becoming family physicians. We are your family, your local resources and the community where you can connect and network with other family physicians and residents in training.
Our Chapter Mission is to champion family medicine for California in San Francisco and to help family physicians to improve their everyday practice lives. Our Chapter Board has set a shared goal to build a vibrant local family medicine community here in San Francisco, enhance the visibility and values of your membership, collaborate with other health organizations and CAFP Chapters, sponsor educational programs and workshops for Family physicians and residents, create a platform for our family physicians to voice issues that are important to their current clinical practices, advocate for our Chapter members and patients at the local and State levels and to bring a sense of community to family physicians and residents in San Francisco.
In the coming year, we will be hosting various social, educational and advocacy events as well as our annual all member meeting and dinner. We will also call out to members for engagement, for serving on the Board and for representing the SFAFP as delegates to the CAFP annual All Members Advocacy Meeting (AMAM). We are also planning to nominate an outstanding family medicine resident and present an excellent teaching award in the upcoming years.
