My Family Medicine Story

Steve Harrison, MD

I decided to go to medical school in my mid 20s. The focus for me was a good job providing useful service in a rural setting. My first two decades in practice were in a rural setting, practicing full spectrum care, while the people I served were supportive and engaged. I lived out my desire to emulate the Marcos Welby myth. I am tremendously eternally grateful.

My last decade was spent in residency education. Another tremendously rewarding enterprise. I currently am providing outpatient care in a rural setting. Care in the safety net is still my passion. Medicine has been an amazing and personal journey.
